And the weather is going to be absolute crap today. So, the kids are stuck in the house. Yesterday, we went out to play at least three times and poof…they went to bed without a fuss, and SLEPT ALL NIGHT! It was great. I got to sleep in until after 8 am….that in itself is a friggin’ miracle. There is nothing better than getting to wake up on my own….no noise, no alarm, no hubby (he left for work at 3 am…taking my car, since his wouldn’t start), and then getting the babies up without having to pick up poop everywhere.
I have an appointment to see my GP on Monday night. He wants to talk about my ppd meds. I am sure he is going to try to ween me off but I know that I am not ready. I actually do better and feel better on a higher dose. I guess I was supposed to go back in December, but I don’t remember him telling me that. I emailed in a prescription refill request and one of the nurses called back to say he needed to see me. Okay….so….I will go. My life is no easier than it was last fall. As a matter of fact, it may just be more difficult and I have not developed the coping skills to keep everything in check all the time with the twins.
My parents return from Maine on Monday too……..YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss them. My entire family is in Maine right now, and I am stuck here. Boo hoo……. Maybe next year we will be brave and take the kids. (not likely!)
I am still freecycling like a madwoman….but I am getting rid of lots of stuff. Oh and I am still Wii-ing. I love it! It is my guilty pleasure.
I did get some pictures of the kids yesterday….they are getting so big!!!
- I just broke Daddy’s sunglasses. Oops!
- But I am too cute to get mad at….
- the great big world outside our yard
- it’s all about the bubbles…
- I really like the bubbles….
- Gimmie!
- No really, Gimmie!
- I told you, GIMMIE!!!!!
- and my work here is done…..
freecycling monster
August 3, 2009 at 2:19 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 Commentso I started posting stuff on freecycle.org…..and I have turned into a bit of a monster. I am going through stuff that I was always going to put up on eBay or Craigslist and never got around to it……well, now….I am just giving the stuff away…..and people are stopping by my house and taking my “stuff”(read…junk) for me. I don’t have to ship, I don’t even have to meet them. It’s great….
Check it out, it is http://freecycle.org and there are groups all over the country.
I am giving away all of my old maternity clothes……ha! I love that! I mean, come on…I am NEVER going to wear them EVER, EVER, EVER again…..
I feel good that I can help people out. I mean, you never know what other people’s situations are……so…pay it forward!!!! Good Karma……WHATEVER…..less stuff!!!!
Oh…..and I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my wii fit!
(Feeling much more like myself again!)
Happy 35th Birthday to me….
August 1, 2009 at 12:14 pm | In Uncategorized | 2 Commentsand in true Kari form…I went out and got a Wii and Wii fit last night. The hubby and I played on it until almost 11 last night. We actually had fun. It might justbe what the doctor ordered. The last few days have been so difficult. Both kids have been sick, Melissa has been taking off her diaper and showing her artistic side by painting herself with poo, Daniel is just acting like a monster, the hubby has been working a lot of overtime, and my parent are in Maine until 8/10.
Hopefully, we will be able to go out for supper. Our regular babysitter,E isn’t available. It is strange…she never seems to be available anymore….so a friend, who actually works in a childcare setting said she would watch the kids….but then never texted me back yesterday….sooooo……I don’t know what to think.
I haven’t had much time to blog as of late. I had a couple of days where the depression was a little more than I could handle and all Iwanted to do is sleep. I really should talk to the doctor about it….it seems like it happens a lot more lately, despite the medications. I know that part of it is that I stopped being active. I haven’t been to the gym in ages, I haven’t done any yoga or stretching…and I have gained 10 lbs…in all the wrong places. That is enough to depress anyone.
So, instead of a New Year’s resolution…I am making a Birthday resoultion…to get off my fat butt…..and get back on the fitness wagon…..
Not what I had planned
June 25, 2009 at 2:01 pm | In Uncategorized | 7 CommentsMy blog post was supposed to be called “Three Little Stinkers” and I was going to tell you about the three baby skunks that are living next door to us and how cute they are. Or I would have told you all about the trip to Lancaster County and our ride on the Strasbugh Railroad (choo choo). But instead, I am at my mom and Dad’s house.
My mom fell this morning and cracked her head open.
She was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Now I am just waiting to hear if she is okay.
Please say a prayer.
Shhhh……can you keep a secret?

Don’t tell the hubby, but I bought a new phone today.
I got an LG enV. It’s used, but in great condition.
I found it on zendoo.com.
Oh…and I bought myself a little treat from Great Cakes Soap Works. It is the new Skin Glow Moisturizer that I was lucky enough to help test a few weeks back. This stuff is THE BEST. Better than my old love, Philosophy Hope In A Jar. Stop over at Amy’s place and check it out if you get a chance.
I managed to get my running around done and now am just waiting for the hubs to get home so I can go to the gym. It was pouring rain this morning while I was loading the kids in the cart at Wally Mart. melissa thought it was funny. Daniel….not so much…..
But we made it.
Anybody have any idea how to build an ark? We might need it before too long.

Our 4th Anniversary

SNUFU
May 27, 2009 at 6:15 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentYeah, that is how things around here seem to be most of the time.
The hubby’s dad is no better and aparently has dimentia. He is doing all kinds of “inapropriate” stuff. Not that he was ever appropriate to begin with.
We celebrated out 4th anniversary on 5/22. I can’t believe the time has gone by so fast. Well, most of the time, it goes by fast. We dropped the kids off at Mom and Dad’s and went out for Mexican food (as usual) and then stopped at a few places. The hubby ran into some old friends who thought I was his older daughter. How funny is that. I might look like a young 34 but, c’mon…his daughter? We ended up at a local place with some friends and of course, ended up fighting. Go figure. Why should our anniversary be any different? Arrrgghhhhh…..
The kitchen is finally done. I have a sink. I have a diswasher. I have new cupboards. I have new counters. I love it! It took them long enough. And I never want to do it again. We will leave it at that.
The kids are doing fine. They LOVE being outside. On Monday, Memorial Day, they were outside from 2 pm until 6 pm. You would think all that fresh air would have worn them out more…… So, on days like today, grey and chilly, I feel bad that the kids can’t be outside. And they are letting me know that they are sick of being inside by being extra fussy and Daniel is pulling Melissa’s hair CONSTANTLY! Any suggestions on how to curb that nasty little habit?
Anyway…enjoy the pictures….and I am really going to try harder to post more often like I was doing for awhile there…before the whole kitchen thing / father in law dying thing got in the way…..
- the rest of the kitchen
- new countertop and sink
- brushed nickle pulls
- and another
- another view
- New kitchen cabinets
