PHILADELPHIA - OCTOBER 26: Jayson Werth #28 o...

We are going to the Phillies game tonight.  I am BEYOND excited about it.  This will be my first trip to Citizens Bank Park and my first Phillies game since 2005.  It is overdue.  I bought tickets from a girl (a fellow Jayson Werth lover) for the front row in Section 105 but Stubhubscrewed up.  She emailed me yesterday and told me that the tickets were no good.  So….what to do!  My mom had already agreed to watch the kids for us and I have been looking forward to this night for weeks.  So, I went back on Stubhub and bought tickets in the 8th row, the next section over.  They are really good seats…not front row, but still…..

I got a call from my sister in law with news about the hubby’s father.  He is improving!  He is trying to talk, trying to eat, trying to crack jokes and the hospital is trying to find a nursing home for him.  He just seems determined to make it through this.  Maybe it is because he finally has his kids back in his life, maybe it is for the twins, I don’t know.  I am just glad that he is doing better.  They are going to try to place him in a home closer to my brother in law’s house in Litchville ND.

It was a good night here.  The kids only woke up once.  The hubby got up for work at “Oh My God O’Clock” again.  I woke up about 6:30 am to bright sunshine, a light breeze, soft sheets, the bed to myself, and quiet.  It was ethereal.  What a nice way to start the day.

Now, if I could just figure out how to get Daniel to  stop pulling Melissa‘s hair all the time……

Any suggestions, advice, assvice?

So it wasn’t so bad that the hubby woke up at 3:30am and decided to go into work.  It wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t get back to sleep.  It wasn’t so bad that I came downstairs and curled up on the couch under my very cozy Eagles blanket…

But when the hubby’s alarm clock went off at 4:30 am, and I raced up the stairs to shut it off before it woke the monsters, and my right foot went squarely into the leg of the folding laundry basket in the hall and I got tunnel vision from the pain, well, that was enough.  Folks, I am pretty darn sure that I have a broken toe.

And this sucker #$%^&% hurts!!!

It is my right ring finger toe…I don’t know what the heck it’s called….the one next to my pinky toe.  And it is the top “knuckle” / joint, right under the nail. Owwwwwiiiieeeee!

So, now I have it taped to the surrounding toes.  There is just nothing that you can do for a broken toe except suck it up.  Poor me.  No treadmill for me for a while.

The good news is that the kids slept through the night… YIPPPPEEEEE!!!

In other news:

I called the allergist to  schedule an appointment for Daniel.  I am really not gett

ing a good feeling about the possibility of having him scratch tested.  I consulted Dr. Google and most people say that under 2 years of ago is a no-no.  That is just the beginning…..they inject allergens under the skin, then make you wait 20 minutes to check reactions.  Yeah, like Daniel will really love that….with his eczema…and he is supposed to have his system clear of all antihistamines for 10 days.  Yeah right……He is on benadryl every 6 hours and children’s zyrtec once a day.  There is just no way to keep him comfortable without antihistamines.  I mean, I will go and talk to the allergist, but there is no way I am going to let them do skin testing on my son.  I had skin testing done when I was in 8th grade.  I came up allergic to everything they tested for (grass, pollen, mold, dust, dogs, cats, milk, orange juice, tobacco, etc).  And I might occasionally have a couple of days per year that I have a runny nose in the spring and fall.  I drink milk.  I drink orange juice (albeit with vodka).  I have dogs.  I’ve had cats.  I worked in a vet hospital!!!! I cut the grass.  My house isn’t dust free by any stretch of the imagination and I have a damp basement.  I am happy to report that I am still here, alive….that allergist was an idiot!!!

it’s 4 days until Phillies Spring Training! WAHOOOO!!!!

And just because it is kind of a gray day here…I thought I would attach a couple of cute shots of the kids….

 hangin' out.....

The kids are fine.  Well, as fine as you can be when you wake up caked in snot….. poor little Melissa.  And let me just tell you how much they love having their noses wiped or sucked out.  They have both mastered the art of the “gator roll” and will try to roll away from any tissue or aspirator.  They are both so stinkin’ strong.  I suppose that is great considering they were so little and premature.  But what the heck am I going to do when they have a tantrum when they are two or three years old.  They are a real handful now….I think I am going to be in trouble.

I must be the world’s worst mother….my babies ate stove top stuffing for supper last night.  They love it.  They fed themselves.  Not really the healthiest meal in the world……..

And for other news:

Both my hubby and my mother have been asking me what they can get me for Christmas.  I had a couple ideas…..

1) a new pair of cowboy boots (square toe).  I had a real nice pair a few years ago, but Sasha decided that they were tasty and ate one of them when she was a puppy.

2) A phillies Hoody sweatshirt or jersey or tickets for a game next season.

3) A gym membership to a place close to the house that has childcare for $10 per kid per month.  I want something for me.  Something that will constructively get me out of the house to do something other than grocery shopping.

Believe it or not, the 3rd one caused yet another fight with the hubby.  You would think that he would want me to be in shape.  You would think that he would want me to be able to work off some of my stress doing something other than sucking down alcoholic beverages.  No, he thinks I want to do it so I can “flirt” and be a “social butterfly” and sleep with the first guy that tells me that I am pretty.  I give up.I told him that I didn’t want a husband who was a warden.  He says he can’t trust me but yet has given me no opportunity to prove my trustworthiness.  He tells me that I am allowed to go out with my friends anytime I want.  The problem with that is all of my friends are at the firehouse and I am not ALLOWED to go near the firehouse.  So, yeah, it is kind of hard to get together with friends.  It is a double edged sword and frankly, I am so done with fighting over the same crap over and over and over (and I am sure you are tired of hearing about it).  There was more (very mature) name calling and yelling and at one point I told him to get a divorce attorney because if this is how the rest of my life is going to be, I don’t want it.  I went to bed.  He came up and was all teary eyed and (3 drinks in) because I didn’t just agree with what he was saying, I was a cold-hearted b*tch.  So, I went to sleep.  He was up a bunch of times in the night and I really didn’t care.  If he falls asleep at work, that is his problem.  The kids were only up once in the night.  They started talking to each other at 4 am but we just let them go.

So, another joy of pure joy here at my house.  More laundry, more dishes, more of the same, every day, the monotony………..

Yeah, been up since 4 am.  Kids were fussing but have gone back to sleep.  Then the hubby got up for work, then wanted me to look at a rash on his neck so turned on the bedroom light (gee, thanks honey…)so I am up.  So, I have to call his doctor today because the last thing we need around here is rash covered hubby (being miserable, or more miserable if the truth be told) and rash covered, teething, crawling, drooling, pooping, bouncing babies.  I am going to try to get him in to be seen tonight.  That means that I am probably off the hook for making supper.  Oh well, maybe I will anyway.  I mean, I gotta eat too, right?  (Oh, by the way, now within 6 lbs of weight in high school…and again, no exercising or really dieting.  Don’t ask me why this is happening.  Maybe I have a tapeworm or something.  Good little tapeworm, awwww…..)

Last night wasn’t too bad.  Yesterday afternoon, our friends (Keith, Steve and Angie….oh and Melissa’s boyfriend Colin) stopped over.  We had a nice little visit.  Keith and Steve are brothers and their parent’s live three doors down from us.  It was their Dad’s birthday and they were doing the whole dinner with dad thing.

Colin was very kissy with Melissa.  And then he was huggy with Daniel.  Then he went back over to Melissa and tried to cop a feel.  It was too funny.  Colin is 19 months and has had a serious thingfor Melissa since they met way back when he was only 8 months old and went by a different name, FRANKENBABY.

Fed the kids while the hubby was in the shower.  Then each of the kids got a bath.  Once they were in bed, they were out until 3 am.  I went up to go to bed at 8 but then was channel surfing and stumbled upon raw video footage of 9/11.  I watched for a while and told myself that I shouldn’t watch.  I should have learned my lesson after I watched “Inside the Twin Towers” a few weeks ago.  This was actual footage, some of which I had never seen before.  So, you know I didn’t sleep so great.  And I know it is going to be a long day.

We broke down and bought our baby jail.  It should be here in a week or so.  I am now investigating play mats.  I’m not sure if I want to go with just colors or the alpha numeric ones.  I found a couple of websites that have them for great prices.  I think we will go with this one, but I want to also check out this one and may even go over to to see what they have.

In other news…the Phillies won both games yesterday and I am very happy.  And…..and…..and….tonight, my Eagles play Dallas.  (Like I am really gonna be awake to watch….stupid Monday Night Football!) Sorry, in case you didn’t figure it out…I love my teams.  I really don’t get into hockey and basketball as much as I used to…but a day without Football or Baseball is like a day without sunshine in my life.

The kids just got up.  Melissa has 2 new teeth and Daniel has 1.  SINCE YESTERDAY!

Oh…and the kids had rice ceral and strawberry puree for breakfast….

sorry for the cheesy title to blog post….
