Minute Pasta (Pastina, used for soups)
Image via Wikipedia

Did I mention that for the second time in a year, I found worms in my San Giorgio pasta.   It was their elbow macaroni.  Yes, worms.  They look like little tiny mealworms but apparently they are  weevils. And I love my carbs as much as the next girl, no way am I eating that pasta.  I called New World Pasta for a second time to complain because I had actually purchased this box with coupons that they sent me the last time.  They offered to send more coupons, but I think I am sticking to Barilla pastas in the future.  I am just a little too grossed out……

Yes, I am still alive.  No, I didn’t take the job.  yes, I am completely obsessed with my wii.  I am the worst blogger ever.

I think about bloggin but am so caught up in what the kids are doing that I never seem to find the time anymore.  I meanm I have to watch the kids like a hawk….they get into EVERYTHING!

The summer flew by, We are into fall…..I love the fall, but it makes it difficult to get the kids outside to let them burn off some energy.  Also, our backyard is a huge mess thanks to my mother driving into our shed.  The hubby and a coouple of halpers tore the shed apart this past weekend and yesterday I paid $450 for someone to haul the debris away.  I only feel alittle ripped off.  We are having another shed built and it should be deivered in the next two weeks.

Rhe kids are good.  Melissa is a chatterbox.  Daniel is vocalizing and occasionally says a word that I can understand.  They are still not the best sleepers……..(am I ever going to get any sleep?).

They are good kids.  They are funny.  Such distinct personalities….but beware of the monkey see monkey do thing.

We also started the potty training thing with Melissa.  She peed in the regular potty once for us……but has yet to go on her pink throne.

I am going to try to write more regularly.  I have lost 15 lbs since the 1st of August (my 35th b-day) and now feel better if I skip a day of training.

I don’t know who is still reading out there….but I am here….I am back….

Reblog this post [with Zemanta]

Don’t tell the hubby, but I bought a new phone today.

I got an LG enV.  It’s used, but in great condition.

I found it on zendoo.com.

Oh…and I bought myself a little treat from Great Cakes Soap Works.  It is the new Skin Glow Moisturizer that I was lucky enough to help test a few weeks back.  This stuff is THE BEST.  Better than my old love, Philosophy Hope In A Jar.  Stop over at Amy’s place and check it out if you get a chance.

I managed to get my running around done and now am just waiting for the hubs to get home so I can go to the gym.  It was pouring rain this morning while I was loading the kids in the cart at Wally Mart.  melissa thought it was funny.  Daniel….not so much…..

But we made it.

Anybody have any idea how to build an ark?  We might need it before too long.

Today I feel strong.

I refuse to be in a funk.

I have the day planned out, and despite the forecast of yet more rain and storms, I have every intention of doing what I need to do today.

I just made waffles(that was a disaster…but that is another story for another blog post), got the kids up, folded laundry, got myself dressed, made me a big ol’ pot of cinnamon swirl coffeeand am doing a quick post before I (wrestle the kids to the ground and try to) dress them.

We are off to Super Wally Mart….you know, the kind with the grocery store in it……then it is off to Mom and Dad‘s to drop everything off.  Then back home, hopefully for naps.  Then when the hubby gets home, I plan on going over to the gym to workout.

And to top it off….I have a song stuck in my head…..

Remember Pretty Woman……..and the song “King of Wishful Thinking” (ok…it may be the dumbest video ever made), but the line that keeps sticking is:

I refuse to give in to my blues
That’s not how it’s going to be

And I deny the tears in my eyes
I don’t want to let you see.. no

Darn music from 1990 whatever the heck year it was….it was a long time ago……

So there is light at the end of the tunnel.  The kids are even sort of, somewhat, kind of, behaving a little bit this morning.  There have been no tears….yet.

Ryan Howard 14:22, 24 April 2007 . . Googie ma...

Sorry I have been so remiss in posting but things aren’t really all that exciting around here.

We had a great time at the Phillies game last Saturday night.  Ryan Howard hit a grand slam home-run right over our seats.  They were way over our seats as we were in the first level and the ball ended up 475 ft from the plate on the third level.

We were indeed very close to Jayson Werth.  We also got to see Cole Hamels warm up.  I got some great pictures that I can drool over at my leisure.  The important thing is that the Phillie won, and have continued a 7 game winning streak and are in first place (4 games ahead of the Mets…hahahhahahaha!)

I started taking the kids back to the gym with me.  Mt parents are going to be away alot this summer.  They leave Sunday to go to my sister’s house in Massachusetts for 2 weeks.  Then they go back in July, then to Maine in August….blah blah blah….they are retired and they can finally choose where they want to go and stay as long as they like.

My parent’s trip will however put a damper on my childcare situation, thus the return to the day care at the gym.

What else is new? Hmmm…..well, the garden is growing.  We harvested several radishes.  And learned a very good lesson.  When you use the peat cups to start the seeds, take the wrapper off the cup before planting them.  We have radishes,,,,they are just long and skinny radishes.  Lesson learned.  The peas are growing like gang busters, the onions are hanging in there as well.  As for the cucumbers, we;;, we will just take a moment of silence for the cucumbers.  I may have one cauliflower plant the survived, it just isn’t doing much.  We shall see.

The kids are okay.  The hate the baby jail now and just want to run all over the house.  Daniel is a hair puller.  If he is made to be in jail with his sister, he will pull her hair.  If they aren’t in jail, he leaves her alone.  I think he may be rebelling.

Melissa has become interested in the potty.  She watched me go and started pulling down her pants and diaper.  So…I think this may be her way of telling me that I need to get the pink princess potty set up.  Daniel…..not a chance.

The kids also love running in the yard and going for a ride in their new wagon.  Today it is really pretty crappy out, so there will be none of that.

Should be a pretty quiet weekend around here……hopefully……

PHILADELPHIA - OCTOBER 26: Jayson Werth #28 o...

We are going to the Phillies game tonight.  I am BEYOND excited about it.  This will be my first trip to Citizens Bank Park and my first Phillies game since 2005.  It is overdue.  I bought tickets from a girl (a fellow Jayson Werth lover) for the front row in Section 105 but Stubhubscrewed up.  She emailed me yesterday and told me that the tickets were no good.  So….what to do!  My mom had already agreed to watch the kids for us and I have been looking forward to this night for weeks.  So, I went back on Stubhub and bought tickets in the 8th row, the next section over.  They are really good seats…not front row, but still…..

I got a call from my sister in law with news about the hubby’s father.  He is improving!  He is trying to talk, trying to eat, trying to crack jokes and the hospital is trying to find a nursing home for him.  He just seems determined to make it through this.  Maybe it is because he finally has his kids back in his life, maybe it is for the twins, I don’t know.  I am just glad that he is doing better.  They are going to try to place him in a home closer to my brother in law’s house in Litchville ND.

It was a good night here.  The kids only woke up once.  The hubby got up for work at “Oh My God O’Clock” again.  I woke up about 6:30 am to bright sunshine, a light breeze, soft sheets, the bed to myself, and quiet.  It was ethereal.  What a nice way to start the day.

Now, if I could just figure out how to get Daniel to  stop pulling Melissa‘s hair all the time……

Any suggestions, advice, assvice?

May pole

So happy Friday and happy May Day to everyone!

It is rainy and stormy here today, but it is supposed to be nearly 80 degrees, so it kind of feels more like summer than spring.

The kids were only up once in the night and the hubby was nice enough to get up with them.  So, I got some sleep.  Some much needed sleep.  It seems that every other night, Daniel does his 2 am routine…hopefully, we can break the cycle of insanity.

Melissa is talking more and more.  She is saying “Get Down” to the dogs, “stop” to the dogs, “sock” ….she is obsessed with shoes and socks.  Put them on her feet, put them on her hands, she is not picky at all.  Oh, and carrying a purse.  I have a girly girl.  Great!  I know nothing of playing dolls, or tea parties.  I like to play outside in the dirt.  That is where Daniel comes in.  He is ALL boy.  He is rough and tumble.  He loves being outside.  My boy!

Yesterday, at breakfast, Melissa was eating her Cheerios in a most peculiar way.  She was eating with her face.  So, what does Daniel do?  Yup, tries to eat the Cheerios with his face.  But, he was not quite so successful.  You see, the boy has a budda belly.  He looks like one of those power lifters.  It was too cute and of course, as soon as I ran for the camera, they became way more interested in what I was doing.

The weather is not supposed to be so great this weekend so I will probably continue to divesting of clutter.  I really want to get the office done so we can move Daniel in there.  It is going to be a rough job, but I think I am up to the challenge.  I mean, it is a small room, but it has become the repository for all things homeless.  Our house is pretty small and it is pretty old.  I don’t know what people did 100 years ago, but I need closet space.  If we ever do move, I want a house with a ridiculous number of closets.  I want my closets to have closets. Maybe the hubby will even help me since (insert giggle….) he can’t do anything in the yard this weekend………..

What are your plans for the weekend?

Wahoo!  Can you believe it? 400 posts!  Who would have thunk it? And I am putting on my brave face!

Let’s see….I promised pictures…so….

Also, we are getting our kitchen cupboards refaced.  And we are getting a corial countertop and sink.  So, I will basically be getting a brand new kitchen in the next 30 days.  We are working with Kitchen Magic.

Our cupboards will look something like this

Our cupboards will look something like this

Our countertops will look like this

Our countertops will look like this

and our knobs will look like this....

and our knobs will look like this....

So I guess I should be happy!  It’s a lot more than we were planning on spending, andit means that we will NOT be going to Dublin this fall, but it needed to be done.  The old stuff is so 1970’s.  I am just trying to look at it as an investment.

My son, the night owl, is finally awake.  He woke up at Midnight andstayed up until 3 am.  It was not a great night around here.
